The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is beyond a doubt one of the most beautiful roads of America and an unforgettable experience not to be missed. The trail leads through the protected wilderness of the Peruvian jungle and forest steppe, passing several Inca archaeological sites and offers stunning views. The Incas used the pilgrimage route to the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu.

1st Day: Cusco - Km 82 (Piscacucho) - Llaqtapata - Wayllabamba

We leave Cusco (3350m/10990f) at 5:30 am on a tourist bus and then continue through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Before arriving at our starting point 82 km, we make a short break in Ollantaytambo to have the option to have breakfast. The official start of the Inca Trail is called km 82 (Piscacucho). Here we will meet the rest of the group and check in at the office in charge of the Inca Trail. After crossing the Rio Urubamba (2200m) which will start the legendary Inca Trail. The first day of the walk way is easy and a good way to warm up for the following days. In Miskay going to lunch in a small field near the river and then receive a brief explanation of the archaeological complex of Llactapata. After that, continue trekking Wayllabamba (3100m/10170f) where it will be our camp. Difficulty level: normal (easy)
Hiking time: 5-6 hours

2nd Day: Wayllabamba-Yuncachimpa - Llulluchapampa - Open Warmihuañusca - Pacaymayu

The second day is the "(Free day) morning," that is, everyone should walk at your own pace - of course I will do during the days of walking and resting places where they find each other without outrun others along the way. Early in the morning we do a little walk and get to our first point Yuncachimpa entering the Valley (3300m/10826f), exact place where you have a great view of the mysterious mountain Veronica Snow. From here, the 3 kilometers following are steps and where rainforest and enjoy the sounds of the river to reach Llulluchapampa (3850m/12631f).

From Yuncachimpa ascend following the path of 4-5 hours until the highest point of the crest of this section, the Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman's Pass) (4200m/113780f). This rise is known as the hardest part of the trail. After a brief rest at the summit, which will continue our walk down a long, steep descent to reach our camp called Pacaymayo (3650m/11975f). Difficulty level: Challenge

3rd Day: Pacaymayo - Chaquicocha - Phuyupatamarca - Wiñayhuayna

The third day is the most beautiful places where some Incas as Phuyupatamarca, Runkurakay, Sayacmarca and Wiñaywayna. You may notice a change in the ecosystem while walking through the rainforest of Wiñaywayna. We will pass two small lakes at the top before reaching the second pass (3950m). It is a gentle climb through a beautiful cloud forest and also find a small and Inca tunnel before reaching the third step (3700m). It offers great views of the Urubamba River Valley. The closest town is called Phuyupatamarca / "City on the clouds" (3600m/11811f). A well maintained site with a long string of Baños del Inca, where you can enjoy the stunning ancient engineering. Then we will go through another tunnel before visiting Inca ruins Wiñaywayna "Forever Young" (2650m/8694f). change the Inca stairs then enter a zigzag path until you reach a red-roofed white building, which will be our last camp, and also where we will have hot shower (5S) and drinks.

4th Day: Wiñayhuayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco

After breakfast at 4:30 am, we will go - equipped with our flashlights to Inti Punku (Sun Gate) to get the first glimpse of Machu Picchu and watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu. The last triumphant descent takes us almost an hour before visiting Machu Picchu (2400m / / 7874f) around 8:00 am. You can enjoy your spiritual charm during a guided tour (about two hours) that helps you understand the meaning and use of the various old buildings. After this tour you will have time to explore the archaeological site on your own (by ejm: go to Puente del Inca, explore the variety of buildings or climb the Wayna Picchu for an amazing panoramic picture). A tourist bus will take you to Aguas Calientes. Here you can take a relaxing bath in all their ailments in the hot springs of the city (S10). We leave Aguas Calientes in the afternoon.
